Night at the opera

CB Rep at the Metropolitan Opera to see Massenet’s Thaïs.  Act One is over with beautiful legato lines and rich orchestrations.  I can never get enough harp arpeggios.  Billed as a battle between sexuality and spirituality it seems just the thing for CB Rep.  New program coming in January.

CB Repertory Friend takes Lead Role in Dreamgirls

Christopher Augustin, a standout in our launch program, played Curtis Taylor Jr. in the Yale Dramatic Association production of Dreamgirls this month.  In the Yale Daily News review, Augustine was praised for his interpretation: “While Curtis is undeniably a “snake,” Augustin creates a complex character, in both his role as a love interest and manager.” Read More …

Wet, verily

Only made it to 9:30 at Troilus and Cressida and then the sky’s opened. Too bad, because we were really enjoying it. I guess that’s the chance you take with open-air theater like Shakespeare in the Park. Now we have to go back to see how it ends.
